The best ChatGPT prompts in 2026 aren't clever one-liners — they're reusable templates that give GPT‑5 a role, the right context, a clear task, and a strict output format. Below are the prompt patterns I teach to corporate teams and the ten templates that get used the most.

The 4-part prompt formula that always works

  1. Role — who ChatGPT should act as ("a senior B2B copywriter").
  2. Context — what it needs to know about you, the audience, the constraint.
  3. Task — the single, specific outcome you want.
  4. Format — bullet list, table, JSON, 120-word email, etc.

1. The cold email generator

Act as a B2B sales writer. My company sells {product} to {ICP}.
Write 3 cold email variants under 90 words each.
Hook = a specific pain point. CTA = a 15-minute call.
Return as a markdown table: Subject | Body | CTA.

2. The meeting-to-action prompt

You are my chief of staff. Read the transcript below and return:
1) 5-bullet summary
2) Decisions made
3) Action items with owner + due date (table)
4) Open questions
Transcript: """{paste}"""

3. The "explain like I'm the CEO" prompt

Explain {topic} to a non-technical CEO in 150 words.
Use one analogy, no jargon, and end with the single
business decision they need to make this quarter.

4. The resume rewrite

Rewrite my resume bullets for a {role} at {company}.
Use the XYZ formula (Accomplished X, measured by Y, by doing Z).
Mirror the JD keywords I paste below. Keep each bullet under 22 words.

5. The LinkedIn post engine

Turn this rough idea into a LinkedIn post that reads like a human, not a template.
Hook in line 1 (curiosity or contrarian).
Short lines. One concrete story. One lesson. No emojis. No hashtags.
Idea: """{idea}"""

6. The data-analyst prompt

You are a senior analyst. Given the CSV below, do:
- Describe the dataset in 3 bullets
- 5 questions worth asking
- The Python (pandas) code to answer each
- Charts you would build and why

7. The competitor teardown

Act as a product strategist. Given {competitor} URL and our positioning,
return: positioning gap, ICP overlap, pricing delta, 3 wedge angles we can own.

8. The learning sprint

Design a 7-day plan to learn {skill} from scratch in 45 min/day.
Day-by-day: concept, exercise, resource (free), checkpoint question.

9. The pricing page critic

Critique this pricing page like a SaaS conversion expert.
Score clarity, anchoring, friction, social proof, CTA out of 10.
Then rewrite the headline and 3 plan descriptions.

10. The "act as my second brain" daily prompt

Here is my calendar + 3 priorities for today. Give me:
- Top 3 outcomes (not tasks)
- 1 thing to say no to
- A 25-min focus block plan
- One question I should journal on tonight

Tips that quietly double prompt quality

  • Give an example of the output you want before asking for it.
  • Tell it what not to do — "no emojis, no hashtags, no fluff".
  • Ask it to ask you clarifying questions before answering.
  • For long tasks, end with: "Plan first, then execute step by step."

Save these as reusable templates inside ChatGPT's "Custom GPTs" or as snippets in your notes app. The teams I train ship 3–5× faster once these patterns become muscle memory.
